Data protection impact assessment
Installing video analytics in a space open to the public normally requires a data protection impact assessment. Mindora maintains a template oriented to this case.
The template is delivered under a confidentiality agreement during a commercial engagement. We are preparing a public redacted version; in the meantime it is requested by email stating organisation, sector and deployment scale.
What the template covers
- Purpose and lawful basis
- Including special category data where the deployment is healthcare or care related.
- Necessity and proportionality
- With the alternatives considered, which is where most cloud systems fall down.
- Risks and measures
- Risks to the rights of the people affected and what mitigates them in this specific setup.
- Informing those affected
- Video-surveillance signage and the extended information that must be available.

It is a template, not a signed document. The assessment has to be carried out by your controller or your data protection officer, against your specific installation. What we save you is the blank page, not the responsibility.
